In 2017 I got a commission from Barnaby Festival to write Macclesfield folk songs with the late great folk musician Paul Sartin of Bellowhead and Belshazzar’s Feast (my words, his music) for a Macclesfield Big Sing event. These are photos of the evening when I heard Bel Canto community choir singing one of my songs, led by Paul Sartin and accompanied by the magical accordion music of Paul Hutchinson (also of Belshazzar’s Feast) in accompaniment. It was really moving. I wish I had photos of the Big Sing in the Market Place itself but I got too excited to take any.
