In May 2014 I was thrilled and bewildered to win second prize in the Open Category of the Hippocrates Prize for Poetry and Medicine with my poem, ‘Weekend’. The prize was presented by judge Philip Gross. All winning and commended poems from the Open and NHS categories were published in an anthology.
