In November 2023 I was one of 32 Macclesfield artists who exhibited a snapshot of their work in the 01625 Gallery, the two disused phone boxes outside the Town Hall. The project was organised by Lucie of the Doll’s House Art Gallery (@thedollshouseartgallery on Instagram). Obviously there wasn’t space enough to represent all Macc artists but it gave a wonderful flavour of the different work being made around Macc in a public and accessible space. The poem I chose to display was ‘Weekend’, which came second in the Hippocrates Prize in 2014, because I wrote it about a stay in Macclesfield General Hospital. I designed it in NHS blue.
